Remember when I said I had no business turning my blog into a fitness blog or a fitness anything?
Insert emoji wince face.
No, I’m not eating my words. This won’t turn into a fitness blog, but La La Lisette started back in July 2012 as a lifestyle blog. A blog where I document life (when I have the time), gather my thoughts, keep a record of projects, and learn to love new hobbies…is just that.
A lifestyle blog.
And what I’ve learned in one week is that fitness is not a trend or something you pick up for only a while.
It’s a lifestyle.
So, I think I will be sharing more details with my weight-loss fitness journey here. Because it’s not just body mass that I want to change. I want to be stronger and healthier overall. And once you start, the energy levels keep encouraging you to keep moving forward, but more importantly, your mood remains in the happy zone longer.
Since my Saturday blog post (and instagram post), I have had a handful of friends contacting me about my fitness goals
What are you doing?
What’s it all about?
Can I join you?
Can you help keep me accountable, too?
Apparently all anyone needs to help them make the first step towards fitness is knowing a friend is on the same journey. My desire to attain happiness through fitness has inspired others.
Me! A person who isn’t fit by any standards.
ME. A regular girl who pathetically struggles with push ups and sit ups. A girl who can lose her breath going up a flight of stairs. People are leaning on me for support. To say that I am amazed, happy, surprised, humbled, and energized is an understatement.
I actually cried during my abs + arms workout on Wednesday. As in, I cried because I could hardly do one without collapsing. I sincerely thought I would accidentally shart trying to complete a straight leg sit up. I haven’t made an honest attempt at a push up since I was in high school and was forced to do them during a fitness gym class. I thought I was going to die after doing 3 in a row, but thankfully by the time I got to repeat the circuit I was able to do 7 in a row. Progress is progress, my friends.
Another thing that has surprised me? I actually enjoy walking + jogging during my LISS workouts. Something that I did not want to even attempt before because fricking Florida heat, has come to be an energizing activity that I look forward to on LISS days. I’ve learned that if I do them in the evenings it’s easier to breathe because of decreasing temperatures and humidity levels have been lower. Come next summer, I may get up before dawn, something I thought only crazies do!
I have a total body workout for today and then I can enjoy the weekend.
What have you been up to lately?
