Disclosure: I received Jamberry products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Yes, those are my real nails. As in, my nails actually grew that long thanks to the help of Jamberry nail wraps. If you remember a few months back, I wrote a review on an at-home, DIY gel nails because I cannot stand chipped nail polish. I rather stare at bare nails than have chipped ones. Well, they went back to the store because after day 4 there were chips.
When a good friend of mine invited me to her Jamberry Facebook party, I honestly had no idea what she was talking about. I thought it was a gimmick (and I hate gimmicks) to get me to buy something. But when she told me she’d mail me a few to try out for the 7-day challenge, I thought “What do I have to lose?” So I did her 7-day manicure challenge, and shared the before/after shots of my regular manicure with two of my nails using the Jamberry nail wraps on her Facebook group. Here are the before and after pictures:
Left: before the challenge, right after getting a manicure. The flirty floral design are the Jamberry nail wraps. All other nails have nail polish from the nail salon. Right: after the 7-day challenge. A lot of my OPI nail polish has chipped or flaked off (all without doing heavy work). My Jamberry wrap was mostly intact. A corner had chipped off only because my nails have the tendency to peel off in layers and I hadn’t taken off the loose flap.
What are Jamberry nail wraps?
Jamberry nail wraps are heat-activated, long-lasting nail “stickers” that are chip-resistant for many, many days at a time. My nails are very brittle (they break, chip, and worst of all, peel off in layers) and I’ve wasted money and time applying nail hardeners with no results. I don’t like sitting in a nail salon and breathing in toxic fumes for acrylic or fake gel nails every other week, not to mention the hefty price tag.
I love that Jamberry nail wraps are super affordable ($15 gives you 2 manicures and 2 pedicures!) and there are tons of solid and patterned designs to choose from. If you have a hair dryer, nail clippers, cuticle stick, scissors, and rubbing alcohol, you have all you need to be successful with Jamberry.
I’ll admit, there is a slight learning curve, and had I watched the video that my friend suggested, my Jamberry wraps would have lasted me a full 14 days. (Hers tend to last her about 15 or more days!). Here’s the video I’m referring to:
The two most important things I can take away from the video are
- you have invisible cuticles that must be pushed back and
- you have to stretch the nail wrap a bit.
I never heard of invisible nail cuticles, but sure enough, I have tons of them. Taking the extra time to remove them (rubbing alcohol helps me!) really makes a difference and makes sure that the invisible cuticles don’t behave as a barrier between your nail and the adhesive of the nail wrap. Stretching the nail wrap helps create a tight application on the tips of your nail, especially my index finger’s nail that tends to have a tighter curve than my other nails.
I honestly was so impressed with the samples my friend, Michele, and her consultant, Sarah, gave me that I went ahead and took advantage of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free deal. I bought two sheets of white French tips, gold leopard, and metallic gold pinstripes. The desktop Jamberry mini heater is a lifesaver, but you can use a hair dryer instead. (I totally recommend getting the heater though!).
Here’s a little about Sarah, our Jamberry consultant:
I will be honest with you: I was very skeptical of Jamberry. I bought my first set of wraps in April 2014 for a friends party and they sat in my bathroom staring at me for months. Then, to help a friend launch her business, I hosted a party, tried on my wraps, and fell in LOVE! How on earth had I let something so easy just sit in my bathroom collecting dust?! This product has changed my life. I know it sounds silly, but after getting married, having 2 kids, and working full time I forgot to make time for me. Any extra money I had didn’t go towards a day at the nail salon. Jamberry has made it possible for me to pamper myself!
Sarah and I are making it reeeally easy for you to try Jamberry with not one, but TWO giveaways! The first one, a gift card for $25 towards any Jamberry products of your choice, is in the Rafflecopter below.
