Chip and Daisy Approved: Vet's Best Flea + Tick spray {review}

These two puppies have had a ball recently. They've been very busy chasing ducks and squirrels. Springtime is in full swing here in southern Georgia, which means that it's also flea season...yuck! And they've returned with a vengeance!

Sometimes we forget to buy their flea medication. Sometimes bills get the priority and, since I won't give them something not sold at vet clinics, we have to wait a few days until we can buy their meds. But after buying from Vet's Best line of products, life has been so much easier.

Vet's Best flea + tick spray

What I love about Vet's Best Flea + Tick spray is not only that it is all-natural, but it WORKS. The main active ingredients are peppermint oil and clove extract, and that's exactly what the product smells like. You lightly mist your dog's coat all over, then massage into the skin. It will kill flea eggs, fleas, ticks and mosquitoes on contact. Need proof?

I wish I could say that dark spot is a flaxseed, but it's not. It was a flea I found on Daisy earlier this week. I sprayed the Vet's Best flea + tick spray a few times in the area and--literally--within seconds it was dead. It did not irritate her skin, and she didn't seem to care that she had a wet spot on her. What more can you ask for?

Vet's Best products are made in the USA and their active ingredients are all-natural. This formula also comes in a larger size for your home, and the shampoo version can be used to wash fleas directly out of your dog's coat.

I wish I had heard of this when Daisy weighed less than 2lbs. I couldn't use anything at the vet's clinic because she was too small. She was a little fleabag and I was afraid of using something too strong for her little body. Now I know that even if I cannot run to the vet for a refill on their flea meds, Vet's Best is there for me. Will you try it?

Life Lately

What a week.

Hey there Friday. Welcome back! I am so happy this week is le dunzo. I'm exhausted to say the least.

Here's what's been going on lately around these parts...

Chip and Daisy received a  piece of 3-foot-long beef jerky.
This 3 foot-long beef jerky was so outrageously large that I splurged the $6 on it. I admit it was really more for my benefit than theirs. I still crack up about it. Happiest dogs I've ever seen.

This week I was also alone as my husband was away on business. Oh, I kept busy alright. Daisy was spayed. If you've ever had a little sprite of a dog like a Maltese, you'll understand why I'm so exhausted. They're not supposed to jump on or off furniture, but she would do it in the blink of an eye.

I had several mishaps in successfully putting on her cone. I finally just put on a hair clip and called it a day. She looked so pitiful after coming home from surgery, but Chip was comforting her.

I also only slept through the night ONCE this week as Daisy had a horribly upset stomach and we would take 3-4 potty breaks outside. THREE to FOUR PER NIGHT. Not fun.

This amazing giveaway happened this week. Don't forget to enter it, as the possibilities for a $300 gift card are awesome!

This weekend also couldn't come any sooner as there was bad stuff happening. It led me to making these phone wallpaper freebies for your enjoyment and to lift your spirits. Aubrey also made a Friday Freebie today that you will LOVE!

I'm leaving you with my #backthatazzup jam. It has soothed my spirits already!

Weekend Update

This weekend it monsooned.  All day Friday and Saturday.  Sunday morning we received a short respite and it was beautiful for a few hours.  I took advantage of the fact that it was Choop-a-loop's 3rd birthday yesterday, February 24th.  If you haven't met Chip around these parts, you're a newbie.

Chip welcomes you to his crazy mom's blog...that sometimes looks like a shrine to him and his sister, Daisy.

Happy Birthday to my beloved Chip.  He's been with us since newlyweds, through thick and thin...ever faithful.  We love you, Chip!

Yes.  I made him a paper hat.  Judge away.

Folks, this was all we got to "do" this weekend.  Our cable TV was out since Thursday and it took until Sunday for a technician to come out and replace our cable boxes!  We got to watch the Oscars, but more of that tomorrow!

As I write this, it's currently monsooning again.

Is it Spring yet?

Confessions v2 issue 1

Lawdy Lawd.  (That's Lordy Lord in my awkward Southern accent imitation)

Wednesday never disappoints: Confessions! I am co-hostingagain this week and I'm very excited! I decided to make this Volume 2, issue 1.  This is how I'll number them from now on.

I confess...whenever my neighbors across the street are in another one of their spats I gleefully  mute my TV and sit by the window, looking through the slats of the blinds, and listen to their argument through my slightly opened window.  Yesterday, I even muted RHOA to listen, cuz lezbihonest... the real shit is just waaaay better than anything on TV!
GIF found here

I confess...I had absolutely NO SHAME in admitting that!
I confess...I like to keep a tidy house.  It makes me feel proud.
I confess...I wish I felt proud more often.
I confess...I hate it when people make stupid grammar mistakes.  I can overlook confusing "they're, their and there."  Those I can deal with.  But THIS?  C'mon people...don't make stupid ass mistakes like this!  For "Salesssssssssss?!?!" That sign is sitting my next door neighbors' lawn.  Their info is blurred (for my 'protections'--so many cockadoodle-doos out there!)
for sales

I think Nene best captures my reaction when I saw this:

I confess...that after almost 4 years of marriage I still am gaga over my hubby.  And my engagement ring.

I confess...I am a total nut case.  As seen by my consumption of my third (numero 3) glass of wine in one sitting.  Here I am sending my friend a drunk picture. It's like dog shaming...only it's self-shaming.  I hope you find it funny...cuz I sure would!

wine

I confess...I love shaming my dog.  Here's a picture of Chip right after we moved.  Apparently, moving tired him out, too.  The little shit.  I love him.

I confess...I want a baby boy just so I can take a picture of him like this:

My Life Lately

Thank the Lord that Sandy "aka Frankenstorm" did not come anywhere near our area in southeast Georgia!  We just narrowly missed this nightmare, and B telling me that the greater Savannah area is long overdue for a hurricane did not make me any happier.  I am thinking of friends and family back North (and my mother-in-law who is moving from Maryland to West Virginia in this mess!) and hoping every one stays safe!

I am linking up with Life on Leroy and The Weekend File for Life Lately.

and I am linking up with Join the Gossipfive30three, and Sami's Shenanigans for Weekend Update.

Here is what my life has looked like lately:

Yay!  Our little tree is FINALLY starting to show some semblance of Fall.  This is a big deal to me as most trees around me are evergreens, and autumn is my FAVE season of the year!

This is the most decorating I've made for the season.  I'm a little ashamed, but I rather invest my resources on Christmas (my hands down FAVE time of year)!

I made chili (for the first time EVER!) on Friday when the South felt the passing of Sandy.  Cumin is my new love!  My darling hubby made the cornbread.  I'm so happy to be married to a foodie!

Here is my beloved Chip!  (aka Choopie-Choop, and Chewie-Chomp-Chomp).  I was baking more of my homemade Peanut-Butter Pumpkin treats and he was paaaatiently waiting for them to be done.
I'm a tad obsessed with this "Frankenstorm."  If I were still teaching in Baltimore, I'd be home (terrifed) watching this through the windows just as I did last year for hurricane Irene.  (B insisted on sleeping with the bedroom window open to "hear" the wind.  I remember wondering if he was deaf, and I didn't sleep a wink.)

Lastly, this is my FIRST post on my new blog!  I recently moved from Wordpress and I am just LOVING the community feeling of Blogger!  I joined these parties as a way to meet new bloggers!  I created the header using this wonderful tutorial on Clover Lane.  She is awesome, and I hope my blog grows up to be just like hers one day!  I hope you enjoy my new blog!  I am in love with it!
