It's the simple things in life...

Hi.  I see I've gained some new followers and thought I'd re-introduce myself to the lovely newbies here.  I'm Lisette...a {currently} stay-at-home wife, fur-mom to two beautiful little puppies, and the author behind this blog.

I consider myself a fairly new blogger.  I blogged on and off in the Wordpress platform from July through October of last year.  It was a little lonely there.  I didn't feel the sense of "family" and community I do here.  My fellow blogger friend (and real life friend) behind Think Happy Thoughts was the one to encourage me to blog in the first place.  I saw how many followers she had reading her writing...and all the people commenting, that I thought "Hey, I can do this, too!"  She's been a great encouragement.

I've met so many wonderful, funny, successful, and intelligent bloggers.  There are so many styles of writing: snarky, witty, humorous, serious, insightful...really the list goes on and on.  Fashion blogs, lifestyle blogs, book review blogs, design blogs, recipe blogs, craft blogs...so many style of blogs! And I'm honestly not really sure which category I fall under. I like to say that I started this blog to document my recipes and my crafts.  Truth be told, I'm not that great a cook, and I haven't done that many crafts. This blog has morphed into a collection of my musings and experiences--and I'm okay with that.  I joke that I'm so forgetful that I can't remember what I wore last week, but really it's the God's honest truth.

Yesterday afternoon I was instant messaging with the bloggers behind Wifessionals and Stories of Kel, and last evening Think Happy Thoughts and I enjoyed a good phone call. They have no idea that I'm mentioning them in this post. They're hundreds of miles away, and I have met two of them only through blogging.  We didn't talk about anything profound, but the point is we talked, whether it be through text messages or instant messages, and I've made friends through this blogging thing...good friends!  We may not always write about every single thing that happens to us, but what bloggers share with you in their blogs are little facets of their hearts.  I've found myself sharing things with my bloggy friends that I wouldn't share with my IRL friends.  I feel so blessed to have found such kind women.

Something upsetting happened earlier this week. I cannot mention what it is on here, as I have family and friends that read my blog.  All I can say is that after knowing God is there for us, knowing that family and friends are there for us, I know that my blogging friends are there for me, too.

I've fallen in love with this little blog of mine.  But what I've REALLY fallen in love with, is the fact that people actually care enough to read what I write.  I want to thank my readers for their continuing support.  I try my best to respond to each and every comment made.  If I have not responded, please know that I have not forgotten about you!

It's the simple things in life that mean the world to me.

And for that I am forever grateful.

I'm in between...

I'm in between...as a blogger.

I'm married, so I don't have the single girl adventures and funny stories.
(More of that next week!)

I'm a stay-at-home-wife without kids to tend to.  (It's been by choice thus far.)  Unless you count my little two furballs.  Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!

I love reading the blog posts of the younger and funnier girls I stalk follow.  The likes of Whitney, Helene, Alexa and Sami crack me UP.  If you haven't come across their blogs yet, you're missing out on some serious laughter.

However, I'm not quite at the point where Shanna, Jen or AP are at either.  They have beautiful kids and tons of stories about their kids' shenanigans.

I'm in between.  I'm not upset or disappointed...just a little...lost?  I'm not sure.  Those with kids would probably say "Girl, go do all the things we can't do because if I die while skydiving who will take care of the kids we have kids to worry about!"

Anyone else out there...married...without kids...know what I'm feeling?  I feel like I need to do some wild, crazy thing I'd feel too afraid of doing after I start family planning.  Any thoughts?

Thank you, all, for reading in this corner of the web.  It means the world to me.

Also, I am taking requests for {vlog} questions.  Shoot me an e-mail, or comment as anonymous ;)

Monday Musings

What a day!  My hometown (NYC) has taken a beating from Sandy.  Thankfully, friends and family have been safe so far.

On a lighter note,  I've had a few things on my mind that I wanted to put out there that might make you laugh.

For some reason, when I turned on the TV this morning the Marie Osmond show was on.  (I didn't know she had a show).  They were featuring a segment called "Wacky Products that Really Work" and I thought I'd share some with you.  (Please don't tell your families I gave you these ideas as stocking-stuffers! HAHA).  My sarcastic replies free of charge :)

Razor Reach - Shaving Made Easy.  Shave Without Bending.  Perfect for Pregnancy, Injuries, Arthritis, Post-Surgical Use, Stand Up Showers.  Just attach your razor.

Forgive the smile on my face, as I'm sure the idea would be helpful to some people with the above conditions.  However, I know that if I were recuperating from surgery, the last thing I'd care about was prickly legs.  And, I don't know about you...but OUCH!  When I see this picture I remember myself as a young teenager haphazardly shaving the back of my ankles and almost bleeding to death.  Maybe this is something that pregnant women would use.  I wouldn't know; I haven't been that blessed yet.  All I have to say is, I'll cross that road when I get to it.  Who knows how sexy I'll feel when pregnant that I'll need to shave my legs?!
On The Cuff - Keeps your arms dry while you wash your face!  Developed after years of frustration. "Every time I would wash my face the water would run down my arms, on to the counter top, then the floor and before I knew it water was everywhere." Really?  You mean to tell me that it would be too hard to wash your face in the shower?  That's where I have my face wash.  I'm sorry if that was a little...off the cuff.  Just saying.

La Decollete - the Anti-Wrinkle Bra. Because of this special bra, your breasts are more or less forced to stay in place so no vertical wrinkles will occur and your cleavage will stay smooth.  Ok, I will say, this seems like a good idea.  I have seen quite a few women with deep creases on their sternums...in their 70s!  I don't think younger women need to worry about this, especially not at £45!!  I say buy a pool floating noodle and cut it to size.  Insert before bed.

Bootie Pies - Warm and cozy pedicure boots let you enjoy pedicures in the winter.  Before nail polish application, lift the arch of the boot and slip your toes out to rest on the tip of the boot.  They only cost $88...but this one is on sale for $58!  Right.  You're talking to the girl who won't spring the extra $20 for a "spa" pedicure.  Maybe this is important for you, but I usually wear my big roomy Uggs after the nail polish is 100% dry.  Cost = FREE.

For the rest of the wacky products, see the list at the Hallmark Channel.  I know I got a laugh out of these products.  I hope you did, too!
