Or how the French say, tête-à-tête, which is only one letter away from Dominican slang for boob (teta, if you were wondering). Which, if we’re aiming for accuracy here, heart-to-heart is kind of boob to boob.
These are the kinds of nonsense thoughts that run through my mind when I’m idle.
Anyway, you may have noticed it’s been a little quiet around these parts. A few weeks ago I hinted at the fact that we started the home-buying process. After several realtors pushed us to over to other realtors because they didn’t want to work with anyone looking for a home costing under quarter of $1 million, we finally found a home that we both love. My inner child wanted so badly to share the news with you all, but with so many unknowns in buying a foreclosed home, the last thing I wanted to do was to announce to the world that we were buying a home, only to turn around a week later and say that we were not getting the house. For that reason, I will not be revealing any details on our home until the unknowns become “knowns.”
Having looked at dozens and dozens (and dozens)of homes on Zillow and HomePath, I wasn’t sure if I found a home for us. I saw this house in particular, but it was out of our budget. All of a sudden it dropped in price within our budget and realized it was closer to a reality.
Miscommunications with our realtor, and our inspector, delayed the prospect of becoming homeowners even more. We found some pretty significant repairs that need to be completed before we can legally assume the home. The bank may decide they don’t want to mess with the repairs and the deal is over. My silence here has been more out of caution than not having anything to say. I don’t want to jinx us. This home-buying process is such a rollercoaster!
Truth be told, I was also helping many bloggers migrate over to WordPress. I was also coding new designs, and that was all a very nice distraction from this home-buying process. Something had to give, and unfortunately Northern Belle Diaries had to take it.
I can’t wait to share the news of buying our home with you when it
finally hopefully happens.
