Have you ever heard of ILIA Beauty? ILIA is a company that takes a sustainable approach to makeup, ensuring each piece is filled with certified organic botanicals that nourish and rejuvenate the skin. With so many allergies, sensitivities, and the quest for all-natural beauty products, ILIA Beauty is definitely a line of organic cosmetics to keep in mind for yourself and for those on your holiday shopping list.
The quality of ILIA’s products are evident in their packaging. All cream lip products come in a sleek, recycled aluminum case. Each product is filled with up to 85% organic ingredients. The combination of gorgeous pigments plus moisturizing ingredients sets ILIA apart in the organic beauty industry.
The Brides | Warm Nude – Limited Edition
The limited edition ‘The Brides‘ warm nude lipstick is a beautiful shade that complements all skin tones. It’s a perfect mix of peach and pink that makes a perfect nude lip for many complexions.
Its moisturizing formula includes cocoa butter, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. What really impressed me is that ILIA uses 100% natural dyes in their lipsticks. I found that the lipstick was a little lighter in pigment than other lipsticks I’ve used, which is okay, and I feel that it is due to the natural oils in the formula. Full-on pigment tends to scare me back into my translucent lip glosses so I was happy that I could still see my natural lip color through the lipstick a bit. It shows that they are truly committed to Green Beauty. I love ‘The Brides‘ because it helps me polish my every day look, yet I look natural and not too done up for grocery shopping.
Unlike many lipsticks on the market, ILIA lipsticks are naturally anti-aging with soothing rose hip oil and aloe leaf juice. You have to love makeup that makes you look good and keeps you looking as young as possible. Mix and match ILIA lipsticks with their tinted lip conditioners, what they’re most known for, to refresh the color and deliver even more conditioning moisture to your lips. At night, try their Balmy Nights lip exfoliator for the perfect way to prepare for matte lipsticks. Plus, they’re paraben-free, sulfate-free, and free of synthetic fragrances.
Cheek to Cheek | Multi-Stick
Rich and warm in color, Cheek to Cheek is a great all in one that particularly compliments olive and darker skin tones. Made with 100% natural dye, ILIA multi-sticks combine organic ingredients with vitamin E and shea butter. True to the name, you can apply the multi-stick to cheeks, lips and eyes for a sheer blush of color. While I probably wouldn’t use it on my eyelids, I will definitely try using it on my lips for a complete look.
I absolutely LOVE the Tuscany red of the Cheek to Cheek multi-stick! It is the perfect healthy glow to my olive skin for both summer and winter. This is my first time using a cream blush, so I was thankful for my friend Chelsea letting me know to apply it using a stippling brush over my foundation for the most natural, dewy look.
Rebel Rebel | ILIA Pure Eyeliner
When ILIA reached out to me I had just recently seen Khloé Kardashian in a magazine wearing ILIA’s Rebel Rebel eyeliner. Her smokey eye looked so good, so I was excited to receive the same pencil to review.
The Rebel Rebel liner is a rich creamy black liner that glides on smoothly. Smoother, in fact, than other eyeliners I have, but I like that the pigment isn’t so dark that I immediately reach for a Q-tip like with other brands. I like my liner to be on the smudgey side, not a stark line, and the ILIA liner is perfect for that. It’s buildable and blendable for the perfect smokey eye. It also has a built-in pencil sharpener so you don’t have to pack yet another thing in your travel bag.
ILIA Pure Eyeliner has avocado and castor seed oils in addition to coconut oil. I haven’t gotten to really use it much, but I will update you on how it holds up in Florida! I do like that there are natural oils in it, as they help your eyelashes be nice and healthy. I’ve gotten irritations from eyeliners in the past so I’ve tried to stay away from them. Thankfully I won’t have to worry about eye irritations from ILIA’s eyeliner since there are so many natural ingredients in it, including 100% natural dyes with it being 42% organic.
Update: I just used the eyeliner on my lids after hitting publish (go figure). I had used it before on my arm for a swatch photo, but I didn’t think it did the product any justice. The ILIA eyeliner went on smoothly and looks beautiful on! Very much in line with the “smokey” eye indeed! I love it!
Have you gotten into the green beauty trend? I really think those of you looking for natural products for environmental reasons (or health reasons!) will really like ILIA!
